Why your aircond is leaking water indoors
ASR Aircon service and repair · 18 June 2026 · 1 min read

Water on the floor under an indoor unit is common in KL condominiums and landed houses, and it is usually fixable on one visit.
The usual causes
The drain hose is the first place we look. Algae and dust turn it into a slow clog, the tray fills, and water takes the easier path out of the front of the unit. A dirty evaporator makes this worse: the coil ices, then melts faster than the drain can carry.
A unit that was installed with the drain running uphill, or with a kink behind the trunking, will leak no matter how clean the filter is. That is a piping fault, and it needs a small correction rather than another chemical wash.
Less often, the tray is cracked or the drain pump on a cassette has failed. We will say so before replacing it.
What to do before we arrive
Switch the unit off if water is actively dripping onto timber or a socket. A towel under the unit is enough. Please do not pour bleach into the drain; it rarely clears a clog and it is unpleasant in a small room.
What the visit costs
Water-leaking calls start at RM 70. If the coil is the reason the tray keeps overflowing, we will tell you a chemical wash is the lasting fix and price it from the published rates. Troubleshoot for cooling or electrical faults starts at RM 80.
Send a photo of the drip and your area on WhatsApp if you want us to confirm it is a same-day job.
